Beachwear

Most people just cannot wait until winter starts to thaw into spring and spring starts to boil into summer. Why? Because this is when they can get their beachwear out. Everyone loves to put on their beachwear and go bake in the sun… and go to the beach, as well, of course.

Beachwear trends have changed a bit for 2007. Skimpy little g-strings and thongs are out (thank goodness). Of course, thongs for your feet are totally a must-have item of beachwear. There is nothing that says “I love summer” like a good pair of cheap flip flops. Flip flops are fun enough and inexpensive enough that you can go out and buy yourself a new pair every summer.

Swimsuits, on the other hand, can be a bit more expensive if you need to go out and buy one or two every summer, but it can be worth it to stay on top of beachwear trends. So, if you are buying yourself some swimsuits for this summer, focus on the most popular and trendiest types: bandeau tops and “monokinis.”

Bandeau tops are an excellent item of beachwear this summer. Bandeau tops are great bikini tops because they do not give you the lines that even a string bikini leaves. You can go out on the beach and tan in a bandeau top without worrying about having lines when you put on your cute and sexy strapless dress. The designs of bandeau tops have improved, too. You can find great bandeau tops that you do not have to continually tug on to keep up. You can even find bikini tops with removable straps that convert into bandeau tops.

“Monokinis” are also a hot trend of beachwear this summer (you likely started seeing “monokinis” pop up on the beaches last summer, but this summer they are all the rage). A “monokini” is a one piece swimsuit that looks more like a bikini – “monokinis” have deep cuts taken out of the sides. They are more interesting than a regular suit, sexier than a bikini, yet also more modest than a bikini. There are few items of beachwear quite like a “monokini”

As far as other items of beachwear go, like cover-ups and hats, more is better. More fabric, more layers, more sashes, colors, more sparkles… go over the top with your beachwear!
