Wouldn’t
it be nice to take a whole summer off and rent a house on one of America’s
best beaches? Sound great! The truth is that most of us are lucky if
we get 2 weeks of vacation time in the summer so planning that summer
vacation to the beach with the most information at hand becomes a priority!
Surely it doesn’t take too much of an imagination to think of
what kind of a vacation you’d like to have. Maybe watching the
kids play in the surf and sand while you and your partner sit on beach
chairs holding hands and sipping pina colada’s, or maybe you see
a hot and heavy game of beach volleyball. Whatever your dream vacation
includes this summer you’ll want to be aware of the best beaches
America has to offer!
The first step is to gather all the latest data. Each year a Good Samaritan
by the name of Dr. Stephen Leatherman ranks the best beaches in America.
You will see where the best beaches are, why they’re the best
beaches and plan accordingly. The travel channel also has a great beach
guide that you will find useful in your search for the perfect vacation.
The next thing you want to do is go online and look for hotel deals,
when you make your reservations always ask for discounts. Most hotels
want your business and will have some sort of discount program. Don’t
be afraid to try smaller hotels/motels. When we went to Cape Cod a few
years ago we were booked into a great little motel called the “Yankee
Thrift.” It wasn’t the Marriott but it was clean and comfortable
and had a beach-y feel. We loved it! Keep in mind that YOU need to be
comfortable and happy and whatever hotel you choose should cater to
your needs. After all it’s your money that’s paying their
bills!
Transportation will also be an issue once you’ve found the beach
you want to spend your vacation at. Find out how far your hotel is from
the beach and how far your hotel is from the town or city that you’ll
be staying near. If you fly in often you won’t even need to rent
a car as the transportation from the airport is convenient and everything
else is in walking distance from the hotel. If you want a relaxing vacation
you don’t want to be planning on a lot of long distance excursions
anyway, so kick back and relax for perhaps the only time this year!
The best vacations are the ones that don’t have a set itinerary.
Imagine waking up in the morning and heading across the street for a
day of fun and sun – everyday for 2 weeks!
Have a fun, safe summer!!
