For the more outdoorsy types of men or women, for example, those men or women who like to hike a lot, or to take long walks during the warmer weather, there may be some types of leather sandals perfect for you. There are leather sandals like Dr Martens brand, which are almost all made of leather material and with thicker soles with stronger traction underneath. They are made to be very durable and therefore last you a very long time. These leather sandals are made with more straps that fit across the top of the foot to fit you better than your average sandals. There are often three or four adjustable straps on these leather sandals that are usually placed close together. Such leather sandals are perfect for a short hike, a walk anywhere—or just during those summer hours when you are hanging out with your friends and want to show up in high fashion leather sandals. For as you probably know, Dr Martens leather sandals are trendy and very popular. They are made in all sorts of different styles, but somehow have the same type of “look” about them that says “these are Dr Martens”. Some of these leather sandals have three adjustable straps and some have four, and of course, almost all of them have a thick adjustable leather strap, to wear around the heel. There are some “slide on” sandals by Dr Martens, they also have many adjustable straps in front, to give your foot that leather sandal feel, not like a flip flop.

Birkenstocks are another very popular brand that makes leather sandals. These leather sandals come in many styles, some have one thick wedge-like adjustable strap and others have two very thick adjustable straps that run across the top of the foot. These are mostly worn on the sand or in the park. Most often the Birkenstock leather sandals I have seen come in brown or black, especially for the men. But there are many different types of styles offered in different color, design and shape selections (especially for women). These less typical Birkenstock leather sandals may be harder to find in the store. You may want to try looking on the Internet. Birkenstocks also have what they call “slip on” leather sandals, also in a variety of colors, with usually with three thick leather adjustable straps for a great fit.

Then there are the leather sandals made especially for women. I prefer the ones with the leather strap or many leather straps across the top. Some of the straps are adjustable and some are not. These leather sandals are just like normal leather sandals, but the straps crisscross over the top of the foot and one part of a leather strap loops around the big toe, usually there will be another strap across the top of the foot, and an adjustable strap across the back of the heel. Or there are the ones with A straight leather strap that cross the top of the foot and have a separate loop that fits over the toe. These are probably my favorite kinds leather sandals. Such styles of leather sandals are perfect for business/casual wear. These leather sandals can come with high heels or they can come flat soled—however, the flat-soled style of these leather sandals may be less appropriate for office wear and more for outdoor fun. These leather sandals come in all brands and colors like reds and greens and yellows and pinks to match you favorite warm weather outfits. Or they can come in more versatile colors--like blacks, browns and grays. Either way, the designs are becoming more and more stylish. I think you should not be without a pair of leather sandals through the warmer seasons this year.
