String Bikini

Bikinis are a style of bathing suit that was only introduced to the world relatively recently – in 1946. Two French fashion designers, Jacques Heim and Louis Reard, invented the bikini practically simultaneously. Before their near-simultaneous invention, two-pieces had existed way back in the past, but not as the “bikinis” that we know and love today.

Of course, the first bikinis were relatively modest compared to the string bikinis that appeared in the 1970’s. It seems that string bikinis could only have come from such as a decade as the 1970’s. The 1970’s were all about change and shocking the establishment. And a vast sexual revolution was happening in the 1970’s… it only makes since that bikinis got sexier as the times got sexier. The string bikini…

The string bikinis of the 1970s exposed the navel for the first time by fitting the bottoms low on the hips. For almost a decade, the string bikini was the most revealing type of bathing suit that you could see on a beach… until the thong bikini. The thong bikini took the string bikini one step further and exposed a woman’s buttocks.

Bikinis, especially string bikinis, have only grown in popularity over the years. Women can just not get enough of them. More recently, perhaps since designers have realized that they cannot make bikinis any more revealing, they have taken a step back and made more modest bikinis like the “tankini” and “monokini.” These new styles of bathing have become quite popular, but they are far from ousting the popularity of the string bikini.

The string bikini is pretty much just made up of 4 small triangles and strings. One triangle to cover up the bottom, one to cover up the front. And two small triangles to cover up a woman’s breasts… or at least part of them. And all of these triangles are attached to strings to keep the string bikini on.

It is easy to untie a string bikini so that a woman can tan her back with absolutely no lines. Even with the strings tied around her back, a woman wearing a string bikini can get a much more thorough tan that women in practically any other suit!
