Choosing Flattering Swimwear

Choosing Flattering SwimwearIf there ever was a day when swimsuits were designed to look good only on women who had so-called perfect bodies, that day is officially in the past. Many of today's swimwear designers and manufacturers understand that every woman's body is unique, and shops are now filled with a wide variety of suit styles that can show off one feature while detracting attention from another. No matter what kind of body you have, there's probably a suit that will make you look great.

Having starting her career as a clerk at a Canyon Beachwear store, Kathleen Egan Mudd is now President of the retail chain, which sells swimsuits targeted to affluent, fashion-oriented women. Located throughout California and in several East Coast locations, Canyon Beachwear has been featured in numerous national magazines. Her Egan Mudd offers tips for buying a suit to flatter your individual figure:
· Enhance a great bustline.
If you have a great bust line, says Egan Mudd, you'll want to wear something that draws the eye up.
· Make your legs appear longer.
If your goal is to make your legs look longer, try something that rides up higher on your leg.
· De-emphasize a long torso.
If you have a long torso, Egan Mudd recommends staying away from too much fabric on your body. For instance, a one piece that is very low cut is a bad idea, as it will emphasize the length of your body.
· Match dark suits with light skin.
A lot of women believe that pairing light skin with dark colors will just make them look paler. But according to Egan Mudd, a darker colored suit, like a black or a navy, will bring out the red in your skin tone and make it look like you have more color. Going with a with a pastel, like a light blue or a yellow, on the other hand, will make a fair-skinned woman look washed out.
