Anyone who doesn’t have a perfect body, and most who come close, find swimsuit season to be an extremely difficult time. Are there any solutions? Can we find a swimsuit we will look, at least, ok in? Do we give up on ever going swimming again?

Swimsuit issues are not just for large women. Large men have the same problems, as do large children. Tall women have trouble finding long torso suits. Short women have even more trouble finding short torso suits. Does the marketplace hold an answer for any of us?

It helps if you know exactly what you are looking for. In women’s swimwear, the torso measurement is very important. If you have a long torso and try to wear a one-piece suit in a regular, you will be constantly pulling it down. If you have short torso, a regular may be saggy on you.

Go to www.landsend.com and locate the Swim Finder and click on “size charts”. (Be sure to have your pop-up blocker disabled.) The information given helps explain torso measurements and how important they are to swimsuit fit.

Some tank suits have an adjustable strap tank for both long and short torso. Try a Google search using: Adjustable strap tank swimwear. The two piece tankinis are a good choice for both long and short torso.

Long Torso
Women with a long torso need to find a suit designed with a long torso in order to get a good fit. The only other alternative is wearing a two-piece, which I did for many years when I was younger. The two-piece tankinis are helpful and some of them are even designed with a long torso. Try a Google search for: swimwear long torso.

Finding attractive swimwear for plus size women has become much easier in the last few years. There are quite a few stores, catalogs, and Web sites carrying suits in sizes 18 – 26.

Supersize (usually sizes above Women’s 26) suits are harder to find Online this year than they were last year. Here are a few locations to check out:
Girls Plus
Finding a good fitting suit for the plus size pre-teen can be difficult and girls at this age can be traumatized by not fitting in.
Boys Husky
Husky boys have been categorized as well. When they are able to find clothing that fits well without being way too long, they are able to feel much better about themselves.
